Our apartment in Italy has a few minor adjustments that need to be made. Our first day here, this Italian guy was trying to tell us how everything works. For example, the first thing he showed us was the TV, but he could not get it to turn on. At all. So, we moved from the living room to the kitchen, which was probably a bad idea. He showed us the stove top and tried to explain how to light a gas stove. I have a gas stove at home, so it's not rocket science, but then the stove would not light. He went through about 4 matches before it finally lit, and then moved on to lighting the oven, which took another 2 matches. Clearly, our run through was going swimmingly.
Speaking of swimming, I thought that we might end up going for a dip in our own apartment when he tried to show us the clothes washer. Yet another thing gone wrong, he turned it on, and water started going everywhere, and he got distracted trying to find the mop and didn't turn off the washer. It was actually turning into a great show.
The next thing he showed us was the maintenance request form on the computer. Thankfully, that piece of equipment worked! And 4 maintenance requests were issued soon after.
Lesson #18: Apartments have issues . . . maintenance required!
