Lesson #10 Cowering in the Rain

Our first couple of weeks here have been beautiful. Absolutely boiling hot weather that allows you to take a shower in your own sweat on a daily basis. So, you can imagine our excitement when we look at the weather forecast and it says it's going to be rainy! Unfortunately, the rain storm hit at about 3am. IT WAS TERRIFYING! Coming from Colorado, I have never seen a rainstorm like that, let alone tried to sleep through it. The entire sky looked like a strobe light was going off and the thunder was shaking everything! We have a small porch covered by the one above us, but water was splashing into our room and pouring off it like a waterfall. The wind was banging everything around too, so it was very loud and very scary.

We got up the next morning and my roommate looked at me and asked "Did anyone else think we were going to die last night?" My response: "Yes."

     Lesson #10: Rainstorms are scary.Cower, don't sing.
