Pigeons. Basically, all you need is that one word. We have had many encounters with pigeons since we got here . . . .
Our first encounter was on a tour at the Colosseum. The tour guide was telling us about the triangular bricks used to build the walls. Apparently, they make a fantastic roosting spot for pigeons. In the middle of her sentence, guess what fell on her head? She took it fairly well, considering all of us were laughing hysterically at her . . .
Our next memorable encounter was in Cinque Terre. We were sitting at a view point watching the sun set over the ocean. As for our peace and quiet, it was shattered when the birds went nuts. They started twittering and dive bombing. Unfortuantely, I looked at my friend and noticed something on her shirt, then blinked and saw the same something on my purse. That was our cue to RUN!!!!!!
Lesson #11: Shit happens . . .
